Why Choose Saginaw Dental for Smile Makeovers?

Do I Need a Smile Makeover?

Unsure if you qualify for a smile makeover? This type of service can be as limited or as extensive as you want. When talking with Dr. Renkuntla, the two of you will discuss what problem areas of your smile you would like to fix. After examining your oral cavity and making notes of where and how to address each issue, he will formulate a treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Some of the most common dental problems that can be fixed with a smile makeover include:

Once Dr. Renkuntla determines how best to treat each type of problem occurring within your mouth, he will likely recommend one or more of the following treatments to help you achieve the smile you deserve:

If you are missing one or more teeth, it may be necessary to consider certain tooth replacement solutions as well, such as dental implants, partial or full dentures, or a fixed bridge.

The Smile Makeover Process

Everyone who receives a smile makeover will undergo a different process. Each treatment plan is customized, and the timeline for completed results will vary. To start, though, you will schedule an appointment with Dr. Renkuntla to discuss your goals. After examining your smile and formulating a treatment plan, he will take impressions of your teeth. Depending on the recommended treatments you receive, you can expect dramatic results in as little as an hour or as long as 2 weeks or more.

Typically, in-office teeth whitening and cosmetic bonding requires only one visit to our office and about an hour or so to see results. At-home whitening kits can take about two weeks to see noticeable changes in your smile, and porcelain veneers often require at least two visits because of the time it takes for technicians to create your customized veneers.

If you need a metal-free dental restoration, this, too, can vary in the length of time because dental crowns and bridges often require several weeks to be created. A filling, however, can take only one visit to our office and only an hour or so of your time.

The Goals of a Smile Makeover

When considering the reason for a smile makeover, you realize that the ultimate goal is two-fold: to not only improve your appearance but also minimize the potential for oral health risks in the future. Smile makeovers accomplish much more than enhancing aesthetics. By eliminating the chips, cracks, stains, gaps, and even misshapen teeth, you are taking a step forward to decrease your risk of tooth decay, cavity formations, gum disease, and other common dental problems.

Not only will you undergo a transformative process, but you’ll receive life-changing results that will carry with you forever.

Smile Makeover FAQs

Does a Smile Makeover Hurt?

If you’re worried about pain during your smile makeover in Saginaw, it may set your mind at ease to know that cosmetic treatments are some of the least invasive. Procedures like teeth whitening and bonding are so gentle, many patients don’t even need anesthetic.

That said, for more involved procedures, such as veneers or dental crowns, Dr. Renkuntla will carefully numb the area, so you don’t feel any discomfort during your visit. You may experience mild soreness or sensitivity afterward, but this is temporary and can often be managed with generic pain medications.

If you ever feel anxious about any treatment, let us know. Our Saginaw team will walk you through your options to ensure you’re comfortable at every stage.

How Many Treatments Can You Include in a Smile Makeover?

Every smile makeover in Saginaw is built from the ground up to meet the needs of a specific patient, so there’s no strict limit on the number of treatments. Your plan may involve just one or two services, or several, depending on your desired goals and your budget.

Dr. Renkuntla uses digital smile design technology to explore and preview how different options will work together for you. Once you decide on a direction, he’ll create a treatment plan that moves each procedure into a logical sequence to avoid conflicts and allow for healing. This meticulous planning is why there’s truly no limit to the depth of your smile makeover.

How Long is a Smile Makeover?

The length of a smile makeover depends on which treatments you choose and how complex your case is. Some patients complete their smile makeover in just a few weeks with services like whitening and bonding. Others may need several months if they’re straightening their teeth with clear aligners or receiving dental implants.

If you’re concerned with how long your treatment might take, Dr. Renkuntla will be happy to provide you with a timeline after your consultation. You’ll know what to expect at every appointment and how long it will take to reveal your new smile, no matter what treatments you choose.

How Long Does Cosmetic Dentistry Last?

Cosmetic dentistry offers the same long-lasting results as comparable restorative treatments, especially when paired with good home care and regular checkups. The exact longevity of your smile makeover will depend greatly on which treatments you choose to include and how committed you are to your oral hygiene routine afterward.

For example, on average, teeth whitening lasts around six months to three years with touch-ups, while bonding often stays strong for five to seven years. Porcelain veneers and high-quality crowns can often look great for 10 to 15 years or longer!
